Five!

Yep…that’s how old he’s going to be.  My sweet little guy is having is birthday next week and I can’t believe it!

Last week the kids and I were driving, my son saw some railroad tracks and he said “Mom…I think you should take pictures on train tracks, that would be really cool.”  I asked him if he would let me take his pictures on train tracks, he thought about it for a second and said “Sure.”   Now keep in mind this kid has HORRIBLE photographers child syndrome.  He really hates having his picture taken and gets mad at me when I pull it out to take snapshots of him and his sister, so I was really, REALLY excited to hear that he was even thinking about letting me take his picture.  Last Saturday we all headed out to some inactive tracks with a few boxcar’s parked on them to take his photos.    I was so happy with how these turned out,  it’s been quite awhile since I’ve been able to get cute shots of him since he is so uncooperative when it comes to his mom and cameras.

Isn’t he sweet?  :-)

I’m getting a new sister!

Well…..sister-in-law that is!  :-)   Sunday night I did an engagement session for my husbands little brother and his fiance Nicole.   These two are so perfect together, I am just gushing with excitement for the two of them.  I’ll be shooting their wedding July 25th in Rose Valley and I just can’t wait.

Nicole is  professional cake decorator, she works at Market Place here in Longview and does a phenomenal job decorating cakes.  Her cakes are works of art…..it’s amazing!  I would HIGHLY recommend her for any wedding cakes or birthday cakes or any other type of cake for that matter, they really are beautiful and unique, and of course yummy!

Craig works with my husband at the family business in Kelso.   The two of them get along great, and we all love hanging out together when our crazy schedules don’t get in the way.    I’ve been waiting a few years for him to finally get married and I am so excited that it’s happening soon, and to a girl we all just love!

I love these two.  Enjoy.   :-)

Thank you.

Just wanted to give a big thank you to all the men and women who have protected, served and sacrificed for our country over the years.   We owe our lives and our freedom to you.   We are so blessed to live in this amazing nation and I truly thank the Lord that I was born here in America!  We have so many freedoms that we take for granted, we seem to go about our lives and forget how many men and woman died just so that we could be free.    So a big thank you to our service people and veterans.  You are greatly appreciated and I feel blessed to have you protecting and serving our nation!

The “L” family – Longview Washington Family Photography

I met up with the “L” family this last Monday for some family photos at a park next to the Columbia River.   They have the most precious family,  3 beautiful daughters and one adorable son.    It was really windy out when we did the session because we were right next to the river, and so the poor kids were freezing, but despite the coldness they did amazing and I was so happy with how these turned out!

A big thank you to the “L” family for having me as your photographer and I hope you enjoy your preview!

Samantha’s preview – Longview Senior Photography

I met up with Samantha this last weekend for her senior session here in town.  The weather was absolutely beautiful!  Blue skies and sunshine, what a nice break from that nasty rain we had last week!

Samantha looked gorgeous, and did amazing during her session.  She plays soccer for Mark Morris, so we did a few sports-themed photos in the Longview soccer fields and then headed over to Kelso for some more urban-ish photos.

I really enjoyed her session and was so happy with how these turned out, of course having a pretty model made my job super easy!   ;-)

Thank you Samantha for having me as your photographer and I hope you enjoy your preview!

Orlando was amazing! – Vacation highlights

My family and I just arrived home last night from our trip to Orlando.  The trip was AMAZING!  I had never been to Disneyland or Disneyworld before, so my kids and I got to experience it for the first time together.  It was SOOO fun!   Casey’s favorite part was going to Mid-Evil times to watch the jousting.   The have a horse show, sword fights, contests and jousting.   They take pictures when you first come in and then super-impose your head into a knight or princess costume, when Casey saw his picture he asked me “Can I just be a knight forever now?!”  He’s been running around killing all the bad knights with his sword since then.   Olivia’s favorite part was the roller coasters and the animals at Animal Kingdom.   She love’s just about every animal out there and there were lots to see and pet.    One of the day’s we went to a water park called Wet and Wild, and it was by FAR one the best water park I have ever been to!   It has lots of crazy slides that were more like Roller coasters than slides….it was a blast!  Overall we had an amazing time, and I can’t wait for my next family vacation.

I took hundreds of pictures (literally…I think took over 500!) and so I’m going to try and narrow it down and just show my favorites of the trip.  Keep in mind these are total family snapshots, no photographic skill required.  ;-)

Sunday we went to Hollywood Studios – lots of fun shows and characters there!

L-R  My brother-in-law and his fiance Nikki,  Casey did one of those parachute things during the parade,

Olivia enjoying some ice cream, our favorite character….can’t remember her name, but she was so funny,   “Boo”,

The Indiana Jones production, and Olivia trying to figure out how to wear her Mickey hat.

L-R, entering Disney,  “The Country Bears”,  waiting in line (we did that a LOT!), Casey on the ferry to the kingdom,  “Jesse”,  the Jungle Book elephants,  Main Street USA at night.

Magic Kingdom

The castle was incredible!  When Tinkerbell flew out the window my kids went crazy, Casey asked “Does Tinkerbell live on this earth now? Then where is Peter Pan!!!!?”  And Olivia just screamed “TINKERBELL” over and over trying to get her to wave at her!   I felt kinda bad that we never got to meet Tinkerbell in person.   At least we got to see her fly, which was awesome!

Sunny and 92 in Florida!

In case anyone is wondering why it’s been a little slow on the blog, it’s because my family and I are enjoying a vacation in beautiful sunny Orlando Florida.   I meant to let people know before we left….but in the busyness of heading out of town I neglected to mention it.  So here I am, sitting in a air-conditioned  resort bedroom, while my kiddos nap in the other room after a fun-filled day at Wet N’ Wild, blogging.  :-)    I forgot my card reader at home, so no photos to share yet, but when I get back in town I’ll be sure and share some of our good times.  (Yeah, I know!  Your just waiting for me to rub it in your face aren’t ya?)   I return to the office Monday May 11th and will be making deliveries and returning phone calls and e-mails then.
