Snow on the beach! – Longview WA photography

My family and I made a trip to Seaside last Sunday when it first started snowing.  We had a lovely time shopping at the Seaside Outlet stores and had a fun family dinner together.  I had NEVER in my life seen snow and the ocean together and so I was totally thrilled to be able to get this photo. Unfortunately, it was dumping snow all day long, so my daylight shots of the ocean look like a lot of white nothingness.  However, I did get this night shot from some friends of ours hotel balcony, and even though you can’t tell that the blackness is the ocean, you can see the snow on the beach and I was pretty excited about that!  :-) A little bit of fascinating info for you non-locals: The statue on the right side of the photo marks the supposed end of the Lewis and Clark expedition.

For those readers of mine that are fellow camera geeks, this was shot with the Canon 5D, handheld (didn’t have a tripod with me) at 3200 ISO’s.  I continue to be blown away at the way my baby handles low light.  I’m in love.

God is amazing!

I’m not much of a landscape photographer per se, but I caught this right before a thunderstorm blew in, and I just have to say “WOW God…your creation is AMAZING!”

Palm Springs…

My hubby and I enjoyed a FABULOUS 5 day’s in beautiful, sunny, Palm Springs. The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed laying out in the sun, hiking, shopping, of course and each other! I missed my wonderful kiddos though, and even though it was an awesome vacation, next time we’ll be taking them with us!

Self portrait if my husband and I.

Palm Spring from the aerial tramway.

Don’t wear flip-flops in the snow! :-)
I forgot to bring extra shoes for hiking and when we got to the top of the tramway I found out it was a LOT colder up in the mountains than it was back in Palm Springs. (like my nail polish?)

….and one more of my wonderful husband.

Moles from hell….

I went up to my in-laws this morning and their yard made me laugh. Had to take a photo and share. I think part of growing up in Washington is learning all sorts of creative ways to get rid of moles, however, most of them involve guns and explosives. ;-)
