Location
I am an on-location photographer, which means you don’t have to sit at a studio in front of a backdrop and say cheese! I have numerous locations around the Longview/Kelso area where I enjoy shooting, but I love to find new ones. If you have a place in mind that you think might work, we can discuss it at the time we book your session. I’m open to coming to your home and doing in-home sessions as well. I’ve found that in-home sessions work extremely well for newborns and actually prefer to do them this way. Babies are much more relaxed when they are in a familiar place, and it makes photographing them much more enjoyable for both of us.
Things you might want to know
When shooting outdoors, the best light is in the early evening a few hours before sunset, or in the morning hours, shortly after sunrise. When choosing clothing for your session, avoid loud prints or clothing with characters on them. Think about what you want displayed on your walls. Group photography looks best when everyone is semi-coordinated. For example have everyone in jeans or khakis and different colors of bright-toned shirts (or pastels, jewel-tones etc.). I also recommend avoiding t-shirts, or shirts with short sleeves.
Scheduling
I tend to stay booked about 3 weeks in advance, so please keep that in mind when scheduling your session. If you have an urgent photography need, please let me know and I will notify you if I have a cancellation. Weekend sessions fill quickly, as I also do weddings and events. Please be prepared to book 2-3 months in advance if you are needing a weekend session. For newborn sessions, please let me know of your due date and I will keep a few spots available around that time. All sessions require the session fee at the time of booking in order to ensure your spot.
Portrait and family sessions: Session fee $50 weekday, $100 weekend.
Sessions run 1-3 hours and are always on location. I recommend not scheduling important events immediately following your session to ensure that we have enough time to capture you and/or your child at their best! Approximately 2 weeks after your session, you will receive a link to your proofing gallery here in my site. After you have had time to view your gallery, we will meet again, in person, to go over your printed proofs. Your print order will be placed at that time. The printed proofs from your session will also be available for purchase.
Newborn Sessions: Session fee $50 weekday, $100 weekend
Newborn sessions are very relaxed. If you need to feed your baby at any time, feel free to take a break and do so! I recommend turning up the heat in your home about an hour before your session. This helps your baby to relax and ensures that we can get those precious, curled up, sleepy newborn shots. I am more than willing to incorporate any sort of heirloom objects that your baby may have (special blankets, toys, stuffed animals etc.). I encourage parents and siblings to be a part of these sessions as well.
Senior Sessions $125 weekday, $175 weekend
Senior sessions are on location and always include unlimited outfit changes and locations. Sessions are usually around 2 hours in length. Each session is completely unique and based on who “you” are. Clothing choices are an important and fun part of senior sessions. Be yourself and wear what makes you feel great! I do encourage clients to avoid clothing with loud prints or logos since viewers will tend to focus on clothing instead of your lovely face. If there are parts of your life (vehicles, pets, sports etc.) that you wish to have included in your session I would be more than happy to accomdate. We can discuss these at the time we book your session and figure out what locations will showcase you and your lifestyle the way you want it to be remembered.
Please note: Session fee is required at the time of booking. If you need to cancel or re-schedule your session for any reason please provide a 24-hour notice.
Birth Photography $500 for first 6 hours.
Birth sessions include me being with you during your active labor, delivery and post-partum, as well as all editing/retouching of the images afterwards. Additional hours of birth photography are $60 an hour. You will receive a DVD slideshow, forty (40) 4 x 6 proof’s in an heirloom album and a mini-newborn session at the hospital, birthing center, or your home the day after the birth.
