Mini-sessions at the lake – Family photography http://jessicalemmonsphotography.com/blog/2009/10/families/fall-fun-mini-sessions-at-the-lake-family-photography/ http://jessicalemmonsphotography.com/blog/2009/10/families/fall-fun-mini-sessions-at-the-lake-family-photography/#comments Fri, 16 Oct 2009 02:57:10 +0000 jessical http://jessicalemmonsphotography.com/blog/?p=1700 I’ve still been a bit behind on the ol’ blog, but I wanted to share some of my favorites from a few (ok…more than a few!) recent sessions.  Last Saturday I did a batch of mini-sessions at Lake Sacajawea here in Longview, the purpose of the mini-sessions (besides family photos) was to raise money for a missions trip that I’ll be going on this coming January.  Through my home church (Fathers House) I was able to promote a Christmas Card special with all of the profits going to pay for a trip I will be making with a wonderful friend of mine to Uganda.   The fundraiser was a great success!  I had 8 sessions booked that day, most bought Christmas cards or photos for their family and friends, and I am happy to say that the funds are helping to pay for a big portion of my trip.  I’m still completing orders, but overall I was thrilled with how giving people were and how excited everyone was to be a part of a fundraiser.   I can’t wait to travel to Africa – I’ll be doing a lot of photojournalism as well as working with an orphanage in Kampala doing a vacation bible school and hopefully traveling to the World Vision Children of War Center in Gulu as well.    I’ll be gone for just over two weeks but I’ve decided to go ahead and take the entire month of January off so that I have time to prepare as well as recover when I get back.    I’ll be sharing lots more about the trip as it gets closer, but in the meantime I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all my wonderful friends at Father’s House for being a part of this fundraiser.  You guys have blessed me so much!!!  Thank you!!  :-)
